R&M Celebrates Its 60th Anniversary

April 23, 2024
R&M reflects on its 60 years of history and the company’s current solutions and focuses.

R&M recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, reflecting on the company’s origins with the idea for an easy-to-install phone outlet in 1964. This idea by Hans Reichle and Renato De-Massari led to the development of Reichle & De-Massari AG (R&M), an international developer and provider of “high-end” infrastructure solutions for data and communications networks. Nowadays, R&M is “one of the recognized specialists in network technology for the three markets Data Centers, Local Area Networks and Public Broadband Networks”.

R&M CEO Michel Riva stated, “Initially, the focus was on easy-to-install telephone outlets with few copper wires. Today, we are dealing with complex infrastructures that not only connect thousands of optical fibers, but are essential for data centers, Fiber to the Home, 5G and intelligent buildings. They have to transmit more and more data at an ever faster rate and more securely.”

R&M’s vision is that of “unlimited communication” meaning unlimited and interruption-free networking through the use of high-end products and holistic solutions. The company is also invested in nationwide fiber optic broadband supply and “believes that access to stable, secure network infrastructures is as important as power and water supplies”.
